Quarantine Love

A poem spontaneously created over the phone with David Igwe
I guess we're stuck here now.
My mind's been running around
Staring through my window at an empty town
I finally found the courage to talk to her
We're both behind screens so I'm just a blur
Feelings stir
Blue lights glare
Battery's dead, and I left her on read (unread)
Sleep schedule's messed,
Messed with my head
With nothing to do, I think of you
You with me
Me with You
We with two
My mind says, “In your dreams”
But why would I dream of you when I can't have you?
